I love this ride!
Hello family, friends and neighbors! After a short hiatus, I'm excited to be participating once again in the annual “8 Lakes/Leg Aches” bicycle ride, coming up on August 6th. This will mark my 8th year of raising funds for Lutheran Community Services Northwest with my bike. Donations help fund a critically important community resource, the Kids SAFeT (Sexual Assault & Family Trauma) Response Center. This is the only 24-hour crisis response hotline in the area, offering immediate aid, counseling and advocacy to people in need. And every dollar raised goes to help children and families right here in our area.
As usual, my work schedule and the myriad of other activities crowding our calendar has made training a challenge. But I'm committed to completing the 45-mile course in under 3 hours, so I will be pounding out the miles over the next 2 months. I know I've set an ambitious goal with fundraising as well, but I also know I can reach it – with your help of course!
