Our goal this year is to raise over $100,000.00.
With your help and the support of pledges from friends and family, we hope to reach this goal.

Lutheran Community Services Northwest is a nonprofit human-services agency dedicated to empowering and healing the children, individuals and families in crisis within our community since 1956. Working with accredited therapists and highly effective programs, we offer support to people whose lives are broken from trauma, helping them to pick up the pieces and feel whole again.

We are the area’s largest provider of children’s mental health services.
In 2011, we provided support for 1644 children who suffered from abuse, neglect, drug endangerment, economic instability, depression and other serious emotional and physical problems. In addition to our clinical services, our Child Welfare program places youth from extreme cases of trauma, abuse and neglect into structured foster care with 24 hour wrap around support for children, teens and the foster parents.

Matt's Story

Hello family, friends and neighbors!  I'm excited to be participating in the 14th annual 8 Lakes/Leg Aches bicycle ride this August, which marks my 5th year in a row raising money for Lutheran Community Services Northwest with my bike.  Your donations helps fund a great organization that provides exceptional service for people in our area in times of grave personal crisis.  It's impossible to underestimate the importance of their SAFeT (Sexual Assault & Family Trauma) Response Center and the services they provide 24/7/365.

As usual, this event is taking place on a working weekend for me, so I will opt for the 45-mile route in order to be ready to work the night shift that Saturday.  It's still a challenging course and the summer heat can make it a bear!  In addition, with the recent opening of MedStar's helicopter base in Pullman and all the extra shifts we have to cover there, my opportunities to train have been greatly impacted.  But this is my favorite local ride and the organizers and volunteers do a tremendous job year after year.  Sure, the pizza and ice cream at the finish line are a big draw, but it's still about challenging myself to complete that distance for a good cause.

Thanks to you, I've been among the top individual fundraisers in years past, but this year I'm shooting for the top.  Help me raise a total of $2000 by getting the word out to your friends as well.  Having this online pledge option makes giving exceptionally easy, and don't forget all donations are tax deductible!  Share the link to this web page with your friends.  With your support, I know I can reach my goal.

Please join me in raising funds on behalf of this worthwhile organization, and thank you so much!  God bless,

Matt
