Our goal this year is to raise over $100,000.00.
With your help and the support of pledges from friends and family, we hope to reach this goal.

Lutheran Community Services Northwest is a nonprofit human-services agency dedicated to empowering and healing the children, individuals and families in crisis within our community since 1956. Working with accredited therapists and highly effective programs, we offer support to people whose lives are broken from trauma, helping them to pick up the pieces and feel whole again.

We are the area’s largest provider of children’s mental health services.
In 2011, we provided support for 1644 children who suffered from abuse, neglect, drug endangerment, economic instability, depression and other serious emotional and physical problems. In addition to our clinical services, our Child Welfare program places youth from extreme cases of trauma, abuse and neglect into structured foster care with 24 hour wrap around support for children, teens and the foster parents.

Dear Friends and Family,

As most of you know, I love riding my bike in the summer, especially around the beautiful Pacific Northwest!  So it is all the more rewarding when I can ride my bike AND support something very important in our community.

The "8 Lakes Leg Aches" Bike Ride on August 4 benefits ACT for Kids, a program of the SAFeT (Sexual Assault & Family Trauma) Response Center of Lutheran Community Services Northwest.
The ACT for Kids program is committed to the prevention and healing of sexual abuse and family trauma through education and treatment. SAFeT provides a 24/7 crisis hotline, that receives over 14,000 calls per year, as well as provide clinical, victim advocacy and support services for 3,300 individuals each year.

I'll be riding 75 miles, and my personal goal is to raise $500 for the SAFeT Response Center. All of the money raised will go directly to SAFeT, a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Your donation is tax deductible.

Thank you in advance for your generous contribution to this cause, and for helping make a positive difference in the lives of children who have experienced life-altering trauma.
