Dear Family, Friends & Co-workers,
Somehow we've been in Spokane almost four years now (I think that’s a record!) and I'm happy to say this will be my third year participating in the LCS NW 8 Lakes Leg Aches bike ride.
This fundraising event benefits ACT for Kids, a program of the SAFeT Response Center of Lutheran Community Services NW, and participating in this ride is a no-brainer for me. Not only is it a beautiful route and something I get to enjoy with my best friend, more importantly, it benefits a program I believe in wholeheartedly.
Through my work at the Red Cross, I’ve unfortunately had to refer more than a few families to the LCS Crisis Center. As sometimes tragic and unfortunate as these circumstances have been, the warm hand-off to LCS has truly been like handing these families a lifeline each and every time. Their counselors are available 24/7 (I know, I’ve called to check!), they are professional and caring, and they provided immediate intervention and tangible support to families in need. I’ve seen their services at work first-hand, and I’ve seen families move through and past the trauma they faced, thanks in large part to LCS. I know without a doubt what an important resource this program is, and am so thankful to have them right here in our community.
I’d like to thank you for your generous support and encouragement in the past, and ask you to join me once again this year in supporting LCS, ACT for Kids. A donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated, is tax-deductible, and ensures continued important services to those in need. A little goes a long way, and a lot of us together can do wonderful things!
The 8 Lakes ride is Saturday, August 4th, and your thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated as we pedal our way through 45 scenic miles and raise funds for this very worthy cause!
Thank you!
Keirsten
