Lutheran Community Services Northwest’s work of welcoming, resettling and providing critical services for refugees is more important than ever. The President’s Executive Order at the end of January has caused great uncertainty for our refugee clients and the staff who serve them.

We don’t yet know the long-term impacts of the Executive Order. We do know that we will continue to welcome and work with all refugees and asylum seekers, no matter their faith or the country they come from. We are all God’s children. Refugees flee horrific and violent conditions, and seek a safe place to call home. Most have experienced severe trauma, and many have lost loved ones.

In this time of uncertainty, refugees and asylum seekers need your support, too. With help from the community and our key partners, we have worked with and resettled more than 35,000 refugees in the past 40-plus years. Your donation today will help even more refugees and asylum seekers in the Northwest.

With your support, refugees and asylum seekers will have the resources they need to start a new life, obtain health care services, get their kids enrolled in school, and establish a new home. We work with refugees so they can become self-sufficient, and live free from oppression and persecution.
